Elmer,

Real speed paths are found on real silicon, not on simulators.

I've seen some very fine speedpath work done using nothing but static timing analysis. There are always ugly sorts of circuit design issues which have to be debugged in silicon, but the advent of C4 bonding is making that increasingly difficult. FIBs and ebeam testing are almost impossible.

C4 designs had better flush out most of their speedpaths in simulation.

Elmer,

Re: Pricewatch

Just checked the CPU pricing there K6-2 400's now UP to over $150.

Celery 400's DOWN to $135

What the hell's going on here.

Also Celery 433's shows up at $181.

Jeez, our friends at AMD are production limited ...... either too much demand from folks like GTW,Toshiba etc or they are having yield problems.

Anybody else got any other ideas or production numbers.

Regards,

Kash
