I totally agree with you and that's a very important distinction to make when shorting (i.e. Crap stock versus quality stock getting ahead of itself). I would much more comfortably go long on VISX then short however I feel that there has to be a fairly strong if only momentary pullback.

This is also something that would in the long run benefit the longs (as crazy as that sounds) because if you believe in the "fill the gap" theory (which around 80% of stocks do according to Pring)then once this stock fills (or at least makes a believable attempt) the large price gap it has on the daily chart then many of the shorts will not be eyeing the stock for a correction later on thus allowing a stronger upward trend in the future with less short interest.
