While it is obvious Philips wanted to get a cheap bargain, stockholders like me have to thank Philips for kicking this sleepy dog VLSI to head to $ 20. The Board meeting is scheduled for 3-23-99.
This leaves 14 trading days of uncertainty and speculation. Without a counter bid, some block traders may actually take profits and bring the price down below $ 17. I will be impressed if VLSI gets anything above $ 25!
