You can't compare Schwabb with an ECN. You have to ocmpare Insider trading to companies like executioner.com cyber-brokerage.com mbtrading.com Etc. Scwabb is a full service broker, and doesn't offer things like SOES, Selectnet, ECN etc. There are firms out there that run on the ECN, that currently have 300 clients or less , and are doing very well. ECN firms are for serious traders. Those that trade 100 - 500 times or more a month. So far IT has the lowest account minimum of $5000. Their fees appear higher at first, but you have to read the fine print on the other systems. If IT can pull off service like the executioner, they will do very well.
