Date: 03/03 16:26 EST CSC MEMBERS OF AIR FORCE TEAM HONORED WITH

Golden Hammer Award at Edwards Air Force Base

FALLS CHURCH, Va., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Sciences
Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced that a military/industry team which supports the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, Calif., has been honored with Vice President Al Gore's Golden Hammer Award.

The nine-member Operations Online Development Team, which includes three employees of CSC, received the award from Brigadier General Richard V. Reynolds, AFFTC Commander, during ceremonies at the California base last month. The Golden Hammer Award is presented to teams that have made significant contributions in support of reinventing government principles.

As a member of the Ops Online Team, CSC served as the primary developer and integrator of a system that supports the F-22 Raptor aircraft Combined Test Force (CTF) at Edwards AFB. The F-22 Ops Online is a totally computerized system which performs all operations required to schedule and conduct test flights.

CSC employees honored were Gregory E. Cameron, chief of operations and scheduling, and John N. Zeigler and Daniel L. Mellick, both project
developers.

"The F-22 Ops Online system uses artificial intelligence techniques to
create a user-friendly, paperless environment in support of flight-test
operations," said General Reynolds. "As a result of implementing the
F-22 Ops Online system, we have reduced our operations management force from eight to two people and lowered our manpower requirements by 75 percent."

In addition to the CSC representatives, the Ops Online team includes
two Air Force members, one civilian employee of the Department of the Air Force, two people from Telecom Solutions and one from Tybrin Corp.

"In the past, pilot data associated with flying test missions, such as
currency and qualifications, was tracked by using stand-alone computer programs," said Lt. Col. Steve Rainey, F-22 CTF Operations Officer. "The Ops Online system, however, integrates all of this essential data into one efficient system which removes human error and promotes safe, professional flight operations with minimum manpower. This system is a great example of innovative ways to address the challenges of smaller, more efficient government."

CSC has been providing engineering and technical support services to the AFFTC and Utah Test and Training Range since 1983. CSC engineers and test specialists record and analyze critical flight test
information as well as operate the Real-Time Flight Processing System
portion of the Advanced Data Acquisition Systems, containing over 1.1 million lines of CSC-developed source code.
