A case could be made
A lot of cases can be made, but it doesn't make them right. There are no gaps in the past, although history does not record everything. One thing always leads to another and it seems that things just had to unfold a certain way, because of course they did. If someone could make an exact copy of the earth at the time of the Magna Carta, the two copies would have diverged greatly over that few hundred years.
