Can anyone help me understand what this means?? Tv Guide has signed a contract with Source Media! by: UBY4 (37/M) 5199 of 5200 I've been following ACTV for a while and think the future looks promising. But I wanted to clairify the TV Guide info that has been floating around. Several weeks ago United Video, now TV Guide Inc., entered into a (complex) agreement which in essence gives TV Guide control of the Source Media patents and technology. The Source Media interactive product is server based whereby viewers can select info through the internet (or other media). Here's the announcement: biz.yahoo.com This agreement would appear to be done to 1. help United Video/TV Guide get around the Gemstar patents which appear to be a big problem for TV Guide's - guidance plans, and 2. Sources technology is ideally suited for the electronic programming guide(s) planned. regards, UB
