It is NOT exclusive, but gives DELL buyers an "incentive" to buy from IBM. I presume that means rebates depending on how much they buy each year. Fortunately, DELL isn't an over 10% customer for QNTM. However, it isn't very good for the drive part of the company. DELL is still a large customer, and it means that, if this "partnership" works, there will be even more heated competition for the other big PC vendors. It shows that IBM is getting even more aggressive in the component arena. That is not a good thing. If the tracking stock announcement had not occurred on Monday, QNTM would probably be around 15 today. My guess only.
