So you think Ampex will be introducing a competitor to RealPlayer? Now that would be news! If they do and it is demonstrably better, it would kick start this stock like nothing has before.

We've hit this one before, Swamp. Enter the AXC Player Test Suite:

AXC should be licensing its technology to RNWK/MSFT and getting its logo on RealPlayer/Media Player, the way Dolby does on cassette decks.

Incidentally, here's a real simple idea. How about AXC developing a video player "test suite" that anyone can use to verify 1) whether the player is installed correctly, and 2) how well it's capable of working under any connection speed (downloads test images from say, Reiter). It would then indicate what factors are responsibile for signal degradation and make recommendations for improvement. A fancier version could be sold as a sort of NetMedic uitility for video...
