At least it was good to hear them again from an AMD employeee. Especially, if it puts Elmers doubts to rest a little.
The focus has gone to the chipset, apparently. AMD tried to make a chipset once. The AMD 640 but turned it completely over to VIA. This isn't very assuring.

K6-2-450s now on pricewatch. $220. Available late March. Won't add much to bottom line this quarter since first production sold to OEMs at cheap prices. Probably <$150.
