Isn't IBM who got the most tech patents last year? Looks like DELL just bought the technology to put in its PCs. I agree with you when you say that this looks like a de facto merger. I wouldn't be surprised to see IBM slowly pull out of manufacturing and selling PC. Dou you think that this is an admission from IBM that you can't compete with DELL's direct model? So, they might as well refocus, let DELL build the boxes and provides parts and technology.
