All stocks get hit with bad news from time to time. You are in good shape when this happens on a down day and the DJIN later goes up 200 or so. If your bad news days happen when the market is hot, you suffer in both the short and even the long run.
This whole thing reminds me, however, of the battle between MSFT and RNWK in the third quarter of 1998, a company in which MSFT owned about 12%. RNWK stock was in the 20's then, and now is 85, only 6 months later. My guess is this will wind up a similar non-event and this stock may even go up fourfold in the next six months, too. The category killer similarity and MSFT as a supposed, but ineffective, competitor is eerie.
