Richard:
As I understand things, the MMs do not have to report short positions on BB stocks, so they can be short for an indefinite period. The only way to dislodge this is to do some kind of a reissue, i.e. a merger or, of course, become listed on one of the exchanges. We recently went through this with DCTC. The expert in this matter is Joe Medsker. He is on vacation for a week, but you might pull up a post from him on the DCTC (DCI Communications) thread and ask him to explain it all to you. In that issue, we also had the Canadian problem. Individuals in Canada can short US stocks. I doubt if this is a problem with HTSF. Joe now keeps careful track on the position of DCTC through the registrar and has learned to deal with this problem. The strongest defense is a good offense. If they drop HTSF for us, we need to be ready to buy. Eventually, when the corporation makes a major merger, listing, or sale, this problem will be history.
