Gotta understand the frustration in all this for us. We don't know jack diddly, other then there is this pissing match.

Why don't you just put Pete and Bill in the Fights on HBO and let them slug it out....talk about PR? Pete looks a little skinny, but you gotta watch those wirey guys.

As for me; Mamma Dad's getting operated on today, he's at one hospital, and the gal here at work is in another getting a breast removed. And I'm stuck with day old cold garlic bread and beer again for supper again, and I consider that a blessing, what with the stunning stock action on this dynamic up day.

I just received an e-mail response from GTE regarding the availability of e-bill:

Subject:
Date: Thu, 4 Mar 1999 08:31:55 -0800 (PST)
From: online.customer.response@gte.com (crs)

Dear Samuel,

Thank you for your inquiry about on-line billing.

We are presently testing an application that will allow customers to view and pay their bill on-line.

We hope to make this available to our customers sometime in 1999.

As far as we know you should be able to pay your GTE telephone bill through the sites you listed. By using GTE as the payee, and your account number.

Your account number should be the first 18-digits from the numbers at the bottom of page ONE of your bill.

This account number is also found beneath your telephone number on your payment stub.

We would ask that your bill paying service also include your area code and telephone number with any correspondence, payments, etc.

If you need more information, we would ask that you call our GTE Customer Contact Center, at 800-483-1000.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Thank you,

GTE Customer Service

The interesting thing about this e-mail is the fact that they've moved the availability date from early 1999 to "we hope to have this sometime in 1999"

Sam (FWIW)

It's possible. But until I see new information, I will have to go on what I have. On the surface, you have to admit, it doesn't look like the smartest move by Intuit management.
