Good point. Carl had said that 10^6 rpm rotations were possible, but even at 500 rps, I wonder how cost effective that is. It must cost plenty because it is mechanical and requires fine machining tolerances and there is the question of durability.

I will attempt to discuss Carl's probing questions, but also I'm going to start taking apart this patent item by item and I need the thread to help me because I have a black hole of knowledge when it comes to practical photonics. I will post each paragraph and we will tear it apart. We will tear apart each component as represented on the 4 diagrams and figure out what they do. Hopefully this tops down approach can determine just how high throughput is achieved and answers everyone's questions.
