I'm wondering at what price EGGS would start to consider withdrawing the SPO. To see that such events do occur I've included a release yesterday from a company that did just that, LHS; note that they cite a decline in price as the cause for the withdrawal. The next thing to wonder is whether there would be a rally upon such an announcement. I think that such a withdrawal would still only occur at a price a ways down from here, FWIW.

LHS Shareholders Withdraw Stock Offering

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 1999--On behalf of the selling stockholders, LHS Group Inc. (NASDAQ: LHSG); (Neuer Markt: LHI) today submitted an application to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to withdraw the selling stockholders' secondary stock offering of 3.35 million shares, as described in the S-3 registration statement filed with the SEC on Tuesday, March 2, 1999.

The intent of the offering was to bundle the shares and bring them to market in a coordinated fashion, followed by a six-month lock-up period. The offering is being withdrawn because LHS, the selling stockholders and the placement agents determined that current market conditions are not conducive to an offering of LHS common stock in light of the recent decline in price. The selling stockholders believe that the current market price does not reflect the actual value of LHS shares.
