From news.com ...

"Armstrong also knocked down reports of a potential pact in which AT&T would pay to market its telephone services to subscribers of America Online.

"There was another rumor that I don't think was going on and that is that we are talking about some sweetheart deal," he said, referring to a USA Today newspaper report that the companies were in talks for AT&T to pay to market its services on AOL."

Perhaps we are feeling a some effect of buy on the rumor, sell on the news. That $500 million dollar sweetheart deal would have been nice.

Tang. My point with ATHM is: I would rather have AOL and ATHM go it together than go at each other. In my view, this would be the deal!! AOL also needs my RNWK. But I am sure Steve Case knows better what's good for AOL. gg. Bell is one of my ISP's. I am waiting for DSL this summer.
