"In my area I don't think I can get a better line than 56K."

Paul, keep your eyes open and if some high speed internet access comes available to you, jump all over it. I had ADSL installed about a month ago and it has made a dramatic effect on my trading capabilities.

Have you looked at DirectPC from Hughes? If you live in a remote area, it might be a viable option. If you live in a metro area, call your phone company and ask them how soon they project having ADSL available. You will be amazed at the difference.

As far as better brokers, take a look at LiveTrade.com. I've never used Datek or MB Trading, so I can't offer a comparison, but I've yet to be disappointed in LiveTrade. Super executions and excellent customer service. LiveTrade does indeed use REAL TICK, and if you do 50 trades per month, they comp it to you for free.

Good luck,

Gary

Paul,

You can always go to a dual modem and 112K with no new technology. You just need a Shotgun modem and an ISP that supports "dial analog".
