Really?
1. I fail to see the violence to the concept of paternity. Most abortions are couples who agree that it is the best solution/women having an abortion because the father doesn't care what she does. The small fraction of the remaining abortions either occur without the consent of the father (and wind up in court, eventually preventing a large # of these), or without the knowledge of the father (what he doesn't know can't hurt him). The bond of paternity is far more loose than that of maternity. While paternity is a valid argument to oppose abortion, where is the man's investment of time and body? A quarter of a millisecond of pleasure? I'd say the investment the woman makes in terms of the physical transformation of her mind and body FAR outweighs the "paternity" issue.

2. Validate the loosening of the bond. Prove the bond exists.

3. Some people believe abortion is a valid birth control method. I don't. But I don't have proof that it is an immoral act, either. I don't agree with it, but I don't see that there is anything immoral about it either. Some women I know who have had abortions are very moral people. Again, the validity of the argument is lacking.

4. This has yet to be proven to any extent. If it were true, then birth defects should be falling. I have yet to see statistics that support this.

5. You fail to prove that there is anything sacred about maternity. That is a subjective statement that many people would find silly. Maternity is a responsibility, to be sure. But with that responsibility come certain options. Unfortunately, aborting is one of those options.

6. I don't know of any states that offer or allow late term abortions. This is a flaw. The incidences of dumping are a problem, to be sure. But they are hardly an offshoot of abortion. If you read the papers from the 1950's-70's, you will find many stories of unwanted babies found in dumpsters. The fact that these stories are now national press is hardly indicative of a change in behavior.

7. This is mindless moralizing which makes

8. unfounded.

Don't foist your morals on people. It is unbecoming. You can live your life perfectly well without worrying about how moral I or my wife are. If we have an abortion (we wouldn't and haven't), how would that alter you life in any meaningful fashion? You have no right to use "morality" as a pretext for passing laws.
