like I said before, some of them don't have the right to invest. they should just give it to their favorite charity before they buy something dangerous that might be harmful to their family--like a cobra. lol

Steven if you bought 100 Dell shares at 50, the stock then runs to 80 and splits, you can sell 50 shares
at 40 for a $10 capital loss and still hold half of your original purchase.>>

Might be a reasonable strategy. You probably won't get caught
unless you undergo a very detailed audit. If you do get caught,
overlooking the split sounds like a plausible accidental mistake so
you probably won't get prosecuted criminally. Discussing it on
the web might not be a good idea though...
