Each package requires more fuel to deliver to a home than to a supermarket.

I didn't know Amazon was in the business of selling lettuce, and thus competing with
supermarkets...


Let's call it a department store. Small issue here.

<At the level of sales they are such a household name and at the level of site offerings that
they can raise their prices without loosing too many customers.

People will be willing to pay more than at brick and mortar stores and in quantity?
