It does not matter when you buy the stocks.
If you buy before the split day and hold it, then you will get split.
If you buy after the split day, then you will buy at roughly the half
price for twice amount of shares.

I had stated earlier that athm would split on March 22, 1999. I obtained that information from the yahoo site on splits. Now...it is gone! Instead, there is a message that the shareholders will vote on whether to split at their meeting which should occur in about 3 months. I could have made an error, but I do not think so..I could have sworn that was there. Oh well, it is no longer. So, a split..if it occurs..will not be for at least 3 months.
