<<Unfortunately hype/rumors etc are what drives a lot of daytraders ( and unsophisticated investors such as myself )to move in and out>>

FWIW, I differentiate between *hype* and other things like rumors, popular opinion, buzz, etc. Hype is when someone goes around saying that this stock is going to go up and gives absolutely *no* reason to support it. A market buzz around a stock that is getting popular (like with the e-brokers a couple weeks ago), is not hype in my book. Rumors that may or may not come true aren't hype either, they are rumors. Sometimes those rumors come true, most of the time they don't. At any rate, I still stand by my claim that people affected by hype aren't good investors.
