BBY and Circuit City does not and cannot provide the product line breadth and expertise that CPU can provide. Some people want that. Since they are the only major chain left that provides that, they have a niche. BBY and CC may sell computers, but they are not direct competitors.

Also, they are breaking even. That certainly beats Amazon.com that loses money on every order. They are spending a lot of money on their website and the acquisition has had big costs.
