First off, Maxtor's ASP for Q2 was $143 and Q3 was $139. Hambrecht & Quist has predicted that Maxtor's Q4 ASP to be $135. The ASP did fall from Q2Q, but Maxtor had a good mix of 3.4 GB drives which caused their margins to increase.

I agree with your opinion on the Dell/IBM partnership.

Most likely, this partnership will not affect Maxtor since they are a leader in time-to-market and time-to-volume.

I think it is a great buying opportunity.
