Jeff...Intel has vision and everybody else is wearing bifocals!! If they can juice the bandwidth, Intel will not be able to make enough high speed chips to satisfy the demand, and the faster the better. (If they can pull this off(increase bandwidth) stock would be a buy at 200) I guess they got tired of waiting around decided to force the bandwidth issue, if nobody else is going to do it they might as well do it themselves. It looks like a great move for Intel, thanks for the info. The optimist....M

Jeff, thanks for the analysis. Level One today and a few days ago the announcement into DSP chips? It looks to me like Intel could be positioning itself to enter the cable modem market in a serious way. I have a funny feeling cable modems are about to become very popular in the next 2-3 years.

It was also nice to see that Intel made a few bucks on their investment in CNet today! :-)
