Vantage: I agree with your conclusion that the threads have seemingly no impact on price - at least most of the time. In fact, the last major bump up by FNTN happened in a no-news period with low thread activity. Internet threads are insular pockets of information flow. We probably give ourselves too much credit for affecting price changes in most stocks. Occasionally a thread-contributing investor has enough cash in a stock to cause a measurable change, but mostly it's the MMs and/ or ratios and quantities of buying or selling in the larger market beyond the threads. Most of us here are relatively small investors, and although we fall in and out of love with stocks in weighted fashion our pleasures and panics seldom move the proverbial meter.
What's interesting with FNTN is the type of buying that has caused wild fluctuations. It's ratio of buys over sells rather than pure quantity - and seldom do 100,000 shares get traded in one block. My conclusion has been that quiet accumulation has been occurring in this stock for some time now - and by an unknown quantity of investors. My best guess is that a handful of people or a consortium of buyers has discovered FNTN and are playing a large percentage of their position long. Of course, the only way to find out is for the stock to eventually go up and stay up. None of us know yet.
Reliable (to me) sources tell me that MS has been in an ebullient mood AND working long and hard hours. To me (and not necessarily the next guy) this tidbit of idle information is about as worthwhile as any other indicator - sort of like reading somebody's demeanor through eye contact. Hard work and positive thoughts are usually found at the beginning of any successful venture.
As for the French, let them continue to supply us with fine food, wine art and baguettes and they will continue to justify their existence.
Over the years I've made 4 trips to Paris and there's still something I just can't understand-

In France:

"fenetre" means "window"
"chien" means "dog"
"Etats Unis" means "United States"
etc.

Did you ever notice that those French have a different word for EVERYTHING?? *

Wally
