It is interesting that there is no mention on this tread that oil is up around 20% to $13.4 from it's average bottom and interest rates hit 5.7% also 20% from it's low 6 months ago.

Now with little math have earnings advanced 20% on average? to keep the market at those levels??

Last time that the market ignored interest rates IMHO was during summer of 1987 from what I remember.

Same I think would apply to the number of mutual funds being more than the available stocks last time this happened was 1966/67 I heard.

So much for the new era <ggg>

Haim,

looks like support from mutual fund inflow is fading.

amgdata.com

CNBC reported a good piece of data from First Call this morning. I wonder if anyone else watched it. Basically First Call said the growth rate for the tech industries are as follow:

PC - 29% for qtr, 41% for year.
Telecom - 29% for qtr, 42% for year.
Semi - 29% for qtr, 52% for year.
Software - 23% for qtr, 19% for year.

Do you find this to be slightly ambitious and may be a tough shoe to fill.
