True. Also true that the tech market overall is looking a whole lot less confident now than it has been in the recent past. A year ago a drop like that would have been followed by a strong emotion-driven bounce regardless of the company's actual prospects. Less likely now.

Jeeves would doubtless advise keeping the money in the old oak chest. And despite a tendency to salivate when I see things getting rapidly cheaper, this is probably what I will do. The best cure I've found for the feeling that things are getting cheap is to shop around in oil services, where you can find profitable, debt-free companies selling at .19x book. Then, of course, I have to suppress that impulse.

I should turn off the computer and do some work.
