Thanks for posting the Yahoo message. That sounds like Kim Alexis, from the writing, formerly analyst of Lehman, now somewhere else, I forget where. She says,
"When asked by an analyst on its
conference call held today whether it planned to enter the mainstream desktop market,
IBM management stated that it would continue its current strategy in the HDD
segment--competing in the high-end and mobile segments and accessing opportunities in
the mainstream desktop market through its licensing relationships already in place with
WD and NEC, with clearly no intention of making the mainstream desktop segment a
focus. Further, we point out that DELL's very fast projected growth rateportends that
there are sizable opportunities available for a number of HDD suppliers going forward."

That is one of the more encouraging things I have read today.

Salomon does have an interest in promoting this stock as they have the responsibility to get the new shares to the market as well as the hyundi owned shares that it is doing something I don't completely understand with.
