The only programs that I have to use with windows is Tax software, games, and Mathematica. My wife has a Mathematica license for windows and I use it alot at home. I have it on my SGI at work. Games I have really loved are Myst and Riven. My family however uses Win 95 most of the time. Other than those there are equivalent apps for Linux. I agree with you. It is possible to use only Linux if a person wanted to. I see games as the only real thing that you would be lacking. However even Riven is out on the playstation now. That is a much better game platform than windows since no upset children when they constantly get the blue screen of death. I use LaTeX for almost all my writing so I really don't use nor need Office 97. Haven't tried Applixware nor StarOffice. If they don't do equations as well as LaTeX then I have no use for them. I do memos with vi. >> But then again I'm special. ;=) I'll agree that Linux is special. However, in one of your photos I thought I saw the ghostly image of the Virgin Mary hovering over your computer and twin flat panels. Then again it was probably just a shadow. :)
