Chuz - long time gone here, but as I got back in country, I spoke with one of my contacts and, as usual, things are in a state of flux, particularly on the customer-contact side of the business.

The biggest hangups faced on the former NetGen side are customers who are frustrated with being treated like software users as opposed to being treated like "test equipment" companies. Apparently, old-line sniffer users are routinely considering other vendors where they would ordinarily ignore them. Discounting and price adjustments are being offered to prevent switching over - and service is becoming like a typical low-end software company rather than the kind of support customers used to get.

Accounting rules aside, I suspect the network management game is getting more complex and given the lack of aptitude in the "analysts" world, I'm glad I'm out again after a small profit.

Mr. K.

P.S. Loving the Dell long position, as usual.

>>Speaking of springing, what's up with NETA?<<

Just ignore it, and while you are at it pass the pepto and the air sick bags.

Until the issue of in-process R&D accounting is past, this stock is going to drift around. IMO.
