I Had Abortion During Clinton Affair - Lewinsky LONDON (Reuters) - Monica Lewinsky says in a book published Thursday she had an abortion during her affair with Bill Clinton following a romance with a Pentagon official, the British tabloid Mirror reported. The newspaper, which has rights to serialize the book ''Monica's Story'' written by Andrew Morton, the biographer of Princess Diana, said Lewinsky discovered to her horror that she was pregnant as she ended a fling with the Pentagon official called Thomas. ''I wasn't emotionally prepared for it. It was horrible and very depressing,'' the mass-selling Mirror quoted Lewinsky as saying in the book. It said Clinton did not know she had had an abortion. She had turned to the Pentagon official while Clinton was romancing her but ended the affair after three months when she found the official was seeing other women. ''Not wanting to be a single parent, and still in love with Clinton, Monica reluctantly decided to terminate the pregnancy,'' the Mirror quoted the book as saying. Thomas offered to accompany her to the abortion but she went alone, the Mirror said. Despite her affection for Thomas, whom she met in the summer of 1996, Lewinsky could not bring herself to end the illicit affair with Clinton, the Mirror said. The White House romance continued into the following year. The first episode of the paper's serialization covered the start of the affair with Clinton which resulted . ''We clicked at an incredible level. People have made it seem so demeaning for me but it wasn't, it was exciting and the irony is that I had the first orgasm of the relationship,'' Lewinsky was quoted as saying. The book has already become a bestseller on the Internet before its publication as Web surfers rushed in advance orders. Coinciding with publication of the book, Lewinsky has given TV interviews to the U.S. network ABC, which screens Wednesday, and Britain's Channel 4, which screens Thursday. The Mirror had an interview with Lewinsky in which she said she feels hurt and betrayed by Clinton. ''It's been like being raped. I feel violated,'' she said. She said she had felt angry and jealous when she saw Clinton and wife Hillary dancing. ''It was my boyfriend,'' she said. ''When I see him on TV sometimes I feel proud of him, other times I just change the channel because it brings back pain, anger and a little disgust,'' Lewinsky said.
