TNR Resources Ltd - TNR says Newcrest completes review on Canada Honda project TNR Resources Ltd TRR Shares issued 3,914,788 1999-03-04 close $0.22 Friday Mar 5 1999 Mr. Gary Schellenberg reports Newcrest Resources has completed its review of the information from the three diamond drill holes recently completed on the Canada Honda project. The purpose of the program was to twin and deepen previous reverse circulation holes that have displayed interesting alteration in the hope of discovering a large high-sulphidization system. All three holes, as quoted from the company's Newcrest correspondence, confirmed the presence of widespread gold and base metal anomalism within what is undoubtedly a highly prospective tectonic and metalogenic setting. Further exploration is required in this area to determine focused targets for future drilling. After spending $375,000 (U.S.) on the property, Newcrest has informed TNR management that it will not be able to continue with this early stage project due to budgetary constraints, and has returned the project to the company. TNR personnel in San Juan, Argentina, are actively negotiating with two major mining-exploration companies about participating in the company's Canada Honda project. Previous drilling by Compania Minera Solitario Argentina S.A., now a subsidiary of TNR Resources Ltd. has returned high-grade mineralization within both the Tertiary alkalic volcanic and Precambrian metamorphic rocks. A 25-hole drilling program undertaken in 1996 to 1997 by CMSA produced numerous high-grade gold intercepts over shorter intervals as well as lower grades over several metres. As these drill holes were widely spaced, forthcoming programs will focus on determining continuity between the gold intercepts. A summary of CMSA's drill results are as follows: Interval Drill From To Width Au Hole No. (m) (m) (g/t) 2-96 88 90 2 41.47 5-96 20 22 2 115.30 7-97 16 18 2 2.55 36 46 10 15.65 9-97 16 26 10 3.69 21-97 94 96 2 19.36 22-97 22 36 14 7.97 (c) Copyright 1999 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com
