Al Dunlap of Scott Paper fame took over as CEO of SOC, and it tripled based on how he slashed up Scott, and sold it to Kimberly Clark for about three times what the stock was going for when he took over. Dunlap was fired/asked to resign when what are referred to in polite company as accounting irregularities were uncovered. SOC fell from ~50 to todays close of 5 and change.

I actually made some money last week because of watching that, and CD. I shorted PDX when their accountants quit and they announced they might have to restate earnings soon. I had luck on my side as I didn't hear about it until it had bounced off it's low. Looking at SOC though, I may have been foolish to settle for only a 9 point profit.
