The offer of $17 from Philips set up a ground price of $17 for VLSI stock. What if
on 18th of March , VLSI broader responds " we are open minded for a tender offer
from any bidders, however, we will not consider the offer unless the price is $25 +++
" , this response will set up another ground for $25, and the accepted can be any over $25. This will lift up the ground price to $25 , and speculated price from anywhere of $25 to $30 . Once The VLSI broad set up the new basic price, no investors will like to sell their shares for less than $25. Just like no one likes to sell the share under $17, and the stock price just push higher and higher on speculation. At the same time, VLSI will keep releasing new products and other good news to spread fuel of pumping the stock price.
