I don't understand what you just said: Philips WANTS to start a bidding war? Unlikely. VLSI would like that.

But what is it YOU are going to do do increase the stock price?

Anyway, it looks like it's going to be increased due to the fact that Philips really won't be that credible if it doesn't bid higher than the current market price.

If you meant to say that Philips is forcing a quick decision in order to avoid a bidding war, maybe that's so. Also to avoid the stock price inflating on its own! Because they want this company at a bargain price and maybe now that bargain price will slowly slip away.

Still, I don't know how you can say that we should pump the price, since I don't think that I have that power. If I do, I want to know how to use it. :)
