Interesting article, though I think the author is a little misguided. He says that because Cisco has a homegrown bundle of Intranet applications, they can't resell them to the Internet Solutions Group's customers. Therefore, this makes the program ring of phoniness. I find that kind of naive, or better yet, downright stupid. Precisely because Cisco has gone the homegrown route, they know intimately what works and what doesn't. There isn't an Intranet solution out there that covers all the facets of what Cisco has done internally. So to distill their program into best practices is the only thing that will work. Selling software applications isn't the point of the program. It's selling knowledge. Keenan doesn't get that. Not only that, but Cisco has to walk a fine line between helping other companies gain a competitive advantage and not giving away its own.

Anyway, thx for posting the article. It's always good to read what people think of Cisco's efforts.
