Mani - Re: "Did you ask?"

Yep.

The guy I talked to said they have been selling Intel-based CPUs for over 10 or 15 years without a HICCUP.

He highly recommended anything with Intel Inside.

He did say that the K6-2 PCs were generally cheaper - and "almost as good" as Intel ones - but he couldn't speak about any long term reliability with the systems - since AMD is still a "new vendor" for them.

He did say Gateway stood behind the machines and that I could exchange a K6-2 PC with an Intel-based one (plus any price difference) if I was dissatisfied with the AMD machine.

I didn't consider that a "hardy" recommendation.

I asked him how many customers that bought Intel machines recently called back to exchange them for AMD machines.

Answer: ZIPPO
