It sounds like a very fruitful topic for a magazine article or a TV program. In fact, you should write a book about it, with a lot of photographs. I have a large collection of books about Louisiana culture and New Orleans culture, some of them quite old, most of them are very obscure except to the cognizant (that's redundant or tautological or something, but I can't figure out how to spell the Italian word for it that would make it seem ok). I cherish them, and hope someday I will find someone to give them to when I die, because to most people they would just be junk. Preserve your culture! I am part Cajun, part Creole, and part American Indian, among other things, and I know how easy cultures can be lost.
