March 8, 1999 HAMBURG, AFX via NewsEdge Corporation : Bertelsmann AG wants to sell its Callas internet phone service launched last October, the weekly Der Spiegel magazine reported without giving sources. The magazine said Bertelsmann chairman Thomas Middelhoff sees internet phone services as a "rather small segment" of the internet business which cannot replace electronic mail. It also said the company intends to concentrate on expanding its European online business as well as electronic commerce. -------
