Similar to Peppe, I am sure a lot of us out there have lost a few bucks and won a few holding Newbridge. Of particular interest is Peppe's mention of his RRSP holdings. Canadian law does not allow you to short a stock or buy put options in your RRSP. You are only allowed to buy call options or write covered calls. As a result, you can't maneuver very well in an up and down market. I am certain Peppe could have taken advantage of puts/shorting within his RRSP if he was allowed and probably would have made a few bucks.

I would not have been surprised if the Government said no options could be acquired in an RRSP due to the risk. But I am dumbfounded that they would allow calls but not puts in an RRSP.

Is the American Retirement Savings Plans approach similar?
