Rosy: Way OTOT Communicating around the world as you do today was once not so easy. The only contact that our B-29 base on Guam had with the US in 1945 was a 50 watt transmitter/r. removed from a B-29 and connected to a a v-shaped antenna the size of a football field. We could receive a Texas radio station with Roy Rogers and the "Sons of the Pioneers" for about 2 hours at night while the sun was rising over the states and the Heaviside layer reflected the signals.
