1280 on the SP500 is going to be serious resistance. Any guesses on if and when we break through? My gut says that unless the techs pick up some steam (they seem to be lagging in the latest rally), we may be range bound - good call Clint for calling the range bound market a while back.

Hello Mattie.

>>>My gut says that unless the techs pick up some steam (they seem to be lagging in the latest rally), we may be range bound..

I agree. Without participation from the technology sector any upside is limited. I think the NAZ will stay range-bound(2230-2400) in the month of March. Without leadership from the SOX(PC news), the NAZ cannot take off. We could rally a bit ahead of earnings and then mostly after, in a Summer-rally type fashion. The attention has/will be shifted back into earnings and slowdown in PC sales.

The market is not made up of 30 dow stocks. I don't think there is any reason(FA & TA) to get overly bullish(because of Bonds/DOW) or bearish(because of tech wreck) at this point.

Clint

>>>>Do you have a list going (or are you already long). I don't like to buy into this strength, but looks like we may have legs on this move.

No list.

I am already long from yesterday. I was in a class all morning, otherwise I would have taken profit in stocks like intc that have dropped from intraday high.

I think this rally will continue into next week(not in a straight line) but I don't know or want to add anything now. I have intc, dell, csco, and vrio. I'll lighten up and wait for a pull back in some of these stocks or something else to come my way.
