Hi Mohan, I can give you a bit of history and what they are up to now. IBM has had a large joint LCD project with Toshiba for some years now. The company has had a history of releasing market leading technology in this area. They were the first with a 10.4" active matrix LCD, 12.1", and finally 14.1". They now have a display code named 'Roentgen' in development that will have a resolution of 2560 x 2048!! As a comparison, current 12.1" laptop panels usually run at 800 x 600, and larger panels run at 1024 x 768. From what I read, the new display (it's 16.3") will be available toward the end of this year, and it's ultimate destination will be the laptop line in some form. They do sell desktop 15" and 18" LCD panels, in looking at those they look to have features that are pretty much 'industry standard' as far as I can tell. The Japanese companies such as Sharp can also be considered leaders in the LCD area.

Regards,
John
