Jim, that article about laying the cable is very interesting. Thanks for posting it. I guess there is more to it than putting a big spool of cable on the dock and tieing the end to a boat. Well, we know the end of the story: they completed the project on time and it works perfectly.

Anyway, I was thinking: if global warming is true, and the polar ice caps melt, the four cable stations where the cables reaches shore could be under water. That might be a problem.

It probably won't happen, but my last post was a little cheer leaderish, so I figured I should balance it out.
