Excuse me?
Governments allowing activities to be performed hardly undercuts anything.
Do you want your kids to be politicians? We allow that as a job...
Do you want your kids to be drinkers? We allow that as a right...
Do you want your kids to die in a car accident? We allow them to drive...

Get it? Allowing an activity isn't CONDONING it. It is merely allowing it. Then it is up to you, as a parent, to do YOUR job. It isn't up to the gov't to assist you.
Gosh...everyone's looking for a handout. And I don't mean cash. But what you are asking is, essentially, a cash handout. All the things we've discussed (illegal abortion, prostitution, drugs, gambling) COST money - and tons of it - so you can say the gov't supports you in teaching your kids to live a better life. Yet, despite ALL THIS MONEY, your kid is just as likely to wind up a drug addict or a john.
Why not TAX these LEGAL activities as a means of channeling people to live better lives? That MAKES money, and prevents people who can't afford to indulge from indulging to the extent they do now.
