No way shorted MZON during that run. I watched MZON in awe as the panic buying kicked in. It wouldn't make sense to try to short during that massive run because if I remember correctly , the volume was huge. It would have been no different than trying to go long a stock that is tanking, trying to catch the proverbial falling knife.
In this case, trying to stop a nuclear rocket <ggg>.

On the other hand, experience is the best teacher! After watching AVCO and MZON do the same thing, close huge and tank the next day, I would be tempted to short that type of massive irrational buying at one time and one time only.

A few minutes before the close of course.

And only if the run was touched off by a b.s. press release or a mania , like the Joe Kernan mention that touched off MZON during the height of internet frenzy. After the bell, almost all of these get
dissected and the truth comes out. It was a fools frenzy for those who
held overnite.

The following day's opens are horrific.

The same thing happened with QNET. I got on that one , long, due
to a recommendation from a friend. But I cut most loose at the closing bell. It closed at 30 .

The open was about 15. Sold the rest on a bounce at 22.

Fun in paradise.
