Actually, I never used the "humanity of the fetus" argument to recommend that abortions be restricted. I limited myself to arguments that were indisputably secular. Therefore, you riposte is not germane.

I should address the democracy comment, too. I think that we ought to be sparing in taking matters out of the arena for legitimate political debate, and, as I said, I think that Roe v. Wade was flawed.
