Their offer is good till 4-1-99, after the board meeting on 3-23-99.
Philips can buy VLSI, but not for $ 17 - that is what the market is saying by bidding up VLSI well over $ 17.

You are fooilsh to drop out now. If Philips drops, VLSI will grow by itself due to the turning of the semi industry for the rest of the years, and the stock price will not drop
back to where it was one week ago !!!!!
